Quick Align - a custom Substance Designer tool
I created Quick Align to solve one of the most repetitive tasks in Substance Designer: precisely positioning texture elements based on their visible shape.
How it works:
Threshold the alpha channel to discard semi-transparent pixels
Computes an accurate bounding box from the remaining solid mask
Offers 25 alignment presets (center + corners + edges + intermediate points)
Includes Precision control, fine manual tuning, and debug visualization (bounding box + grid overlay)
It dramatically speeds up workflows involving decals, trims, patterns, logos, wear-and-tear masks, height details, and basically anything that needs to snap perfectly to its own alpha shape or an automatically generated mask if used in grayscale mode.
