Liquid Glass Magnifier - Substance Designer Tool (with Breakdown)

Liquid Glass Magnifier, a procedural Substance Designer tool that creates hyper-realistic liquid glass with dynamic magnification and refraction effects.

This one was born more out of curiosity than actual necessity.

I wanted to see if I could push the Pixel Processor to simulate thick liquid glass with proper magnification, refraction.

It turned out to be surprisingly fun. So I decided to turn it into a playful little tool rather than a serious production node. I like to call it a "side productivity tool", something you open when you feel like experimenting, playing with parameters, and just enjoying the process while your brain looks for new ideas and inspiration.

It creates beautiful, hypnotic liquid glass surfaces with dynamic magnification, smooth distortion, and organic light bending.

You can spend hours tweaking thickness, curvature, internal flow, and caustic intensity, watching how the glass “breathes” and warps the world behind it.
Not the most production-ready tool I’ve ever made, but definitely one of the most enjoyable to play with.
Perfect for when you want to relax, explore, and let creativity flow naturally.

- Lensing in Real-Time: At the core of the experience is Real-time Optical Magnification. Instead of simply scattering pixels, the MAGNIFIER dynamically bends and shapes light to simulate how transparent objects behave in the physical world.
- Procedural Brilliance: Experience the subtle interplay of Liquid Refraction and Caustics. As you move, the material beautifully refracts light and reacts with shimmering specular highlights, creating a lively and truly delightful experience.
- Total Fluidity: You have full, nuanced control over the material's Thickness, Curvature, and Distortion. Whether you are simulating a delicate drop of water or a heavy, curved lens, the MAGNIFIER responds instantly to your input with impeccable polish.
